Corrupted LXX/Greek OT??? HELP PLZ

Not sure if posted is correct section.

 

Long story short, the hard drive in my laptop crashed and I had to format my computer with new hard drive, thus I lost my original eSword files (don't know version either).  So I installed the latest version 11.1.0 and have issues with copy/paste using ctrl+c.  It will work sometimes and give me an error most times and it was getting annoying as I use this software for copy/paste verses while doing online Bible studies.

 

So I searched and downloaded an older version, 11.0.6 and works fine, no issues with copy/paste, but the Greek OT/LXX is corrupted and all I see is a bunch of square boxes instead of text.  Some verses show up but about 95% of it is boxes.  The latest edition 11.1.0 did not have this issue which makes me think its a problem with the version of software I got?

 

It also seems maybe the files are now different as my OLD eSword (before computer crashed) had the titles LXX and LXX+ for the Greek OT, but now the new ones show Greek OT, and Greek OT+.  Tried redownloading, deleting etc., and nothing seems to work.  Maybe they updated the files through the esword download tab?  Any way to find the older ones again?  Or any way to fix this issue?

 

Any help please?

Module Removal

I am running E-Sword on Linux Mint operating system. I have so many modules installed it has greatly slowed down the program. I perused the documentation but have not been able to find how to remove un-needed modules. Could someone help please. Thanks

Help with display

I was looking at the Help file trying to learn how to display (or hide) some of the Bibles I have installed.  While looking at the help file, I saw something about minimizing the Bible window by clicking the pushpin in the top right corner.

 

I did that and now I cannot get my original display back which showed Bible, Commentary, Dictionary, and notes.

 

How can I restore that display?  I tried closing and restarting e-Sword but it made no difference.

 

Now my e-Sword is display is blank except for little tabs (or buttons) along the left side.  They are Bible, Dictionaries, Commentaries, Bible Books, and Editors.  I can click on any of these and they will maximize.  Clicking on the show all windows icon at the top does nothing.

Hi,

 

I have no idea how to access the files that have been downloaded. They load onto PC as an exe into Program Files but I never see any desktop icon or anything else.

I already have it checked under resource.  I am using the latest version of e-sword.  Please help.  It simply doesn't offer me the option.  All that comes up when i click the arrow is kjv and kjv+.

I can't figure out how to download these on my iPad. I choose download but nothing happens. Is there something I have to buy first, or install to be able to download. I don't have e-Sword installed is that my problem?

Strong's numbers ending in a letter

Hi all,

 

Long-time e-Sword user, first time forum poster here. When I'm viewing a version with Strong's numbers included (e.g. NASB+), the tool-tip and click-to-dictionary functionality works correctly. However, if the Strong's number ends in "a" or "b" (as in H7287a in Genesis 1:26), then neither the tool-tip nor the click function works. In fact, I have had a lot of trouble even searching the Strong's dictionary for any such number. Any help with that?

Able to move a blog

Question      Is there a way to move a blog over to the message board?  

 

I have been getting some interesting comments on the "Baptism does not save" blog so thought it would be good if it could be moved over to the message board. Just not sure how/or if it can be done. Would like to bring the comments with it if possible.

Foreign Characters in a Bible

I am using e-Sword ToolTip Tool v. 3.52 to develop a foreign language Bible.

Attached screenshot of Module save options.

 

I cannot find way to way to save the Bible file in Unicode.

 

What am I doing wrong wrong?

Hi,

I've downloaded eSword twice now and attempted repair once and I still get a number of error boxes appearing on start up with the eventual error message that the topics database could not load.

I've read similar queries on the forum and followed advice, still to no avail.

This seems to be a common enough problem, yet it still plagues eSword.

How unfortunate.

Greetings. I have been using your site for my Sword downloads for my android devices. Now I have a ESword And I can’t find a file for my new iPhone 10.I downloaded the file but it was of course for EXC extension for I believe Microsoft or whatever e-sword I thought was strictly for iOS iPhone. So I can’t find the companion Bible to install into the new application. Do you have downloads for iPhone? This is really driving me crazy because I really am starting to like the sword but I loved my sword , But I figured what the heck I’d try it out. But I cannot find any downloads of the companion Bible, the appendixes, or anything for that matter for iPhone please help me, I never had to pay for a download from the sit, But I figured what the heck I’d try it out. You got it have this available please tell me you do. It is just so much easier to have it installed in my Bible app on my phone so I can search real quick and it is in my opinion the best and most enriching Bible there is besides the original King James Version with the Strongs concordance and I want to be able to use both please reply ASAP your loyal member, Chad Lewis

Changing Bible chapter headings

I am working on a foreign Bible and want to add chapter headings in that language.

 

I looked a French Bible for guidance, but its heading are in English and no different than KJV, NKJV, etc.:

 

     The Creation of the World
     Gen 1:1  Au commencement, Dieu créa les cieux et la terre.

     Gen 1:2  La terre était informe et vide: il y avait des ténèbres à la surface de l'abîme, et l'esprit de Dieu se mouvait au-dessus des eaux.
     Gen 1:3  Dieu dit: Que la lumière soit! Et la lumière fut.

 

Is there any way to change the Bible's headings?

Can't do Downloads

I recently had to install a new harddrive on my computer, and with it a clean install of Windows.

 

After downloading e-sword 11.1 and installing it, it will not run on my computer for some reason   I click the icon to run it, and nothing happens.

 

I happened to still have the install program for version 10, so I installed it and it runs just fine.   However, when I went to go download some commentaries and study notes that I enjoy using, that are public domain, I found that almost all of them are in red and will not download.  But they do say that an update is available.  But, clicking on that, just takes me to a link do download version 11.

 

Am I out of luck here, or is there something I can do?

Direct go-tos on boards

Hey Josh, it would be nice when reviewing a board such as commentary, message or downloads to have a field to enter a direct section to go to.

 

As an example, when looking at the commentary board there might be 349  "pages" of commentaries.  I might have seen an item I thought was interesting on page 24 but didn't pursue.  I may have made a note to myself about that page.  Eventually I may get to page 50 and realize I wanted to download the item on page 24 but don't have an easy way to get to that page other than going b ack to page 1 and paging through again until I get back to page 24.

 

Is there a way to do that and I have missed it?

 

If not, that would be a nice feature.

Multiple verses combined into one verse

I am considering developing an African Bible for for e-Sword.

The translation has 3 places where 2 or 3 verses are combined into 1 verse.

  • Exo 22:2-4
  • Jdg 20:22-23
  • Jer 34:18-19

To be clear, there is no Exodus Ch. 22 verse 2, 3, or 4.  They are combined into one verse called "2-4"

 

I tested a verse called "Rev 22:22-23" with the same text as Rev 22:21.

Saved with ModulesHD, BBLI (older) as there is a foreign character.

 

This is what the test produced:

Rev 22:21  Ekisa kya Mukama waffe Yesu Kristo kibeerenga ne bonna. Amiina.
Rev 22:ý1  Ekisa kya Mukama waffe Yesu Kristo kibeerenga ne bonna. Amiina.

 

Is is possible to display a verse like "Exo 22:2-4" ? 

 

Should I list the text of "Exo 22:2-4" once under Exo 22:2 and then jump to Exo 22:5 ?

Should I list the text of "Exo 22:2-4" three times under Exo 22:2, Exo 22:3, and Exo 22:4 ?

 

Advice appreciated.  Other Bibles, like Rwanda's BYSB, also have this issue.

Removing book title in a book comentary

I'm developing a book (not chapter or verse) commentary.  It's really a book introduction.

As foreign characters are involved, I'm saving with ModulesHD and CMTI.

 

How do I remove the book's title from the commentary?

In essence, is there a way to "drop reference when saving" (which is an option under Modules menu, Commentary)?

 

The syntax looks like this:

÷÷÷EXODUS

OKUVA ENNYANJULA

 

Ekitabo kino kiyitibwa ekitabo kya Musa, Okuva. Kijjudde ebitundu

 

 

The commentary (Commentary, Display Book Comments) looks like this.  I don't want "Exodus" to show.
