Have a friend who has a desktop computer - but is way out in an area with no internet service.
Is there a way for someone who has internet service to download E-Sword onto a flash drive or disk and give it to him so he can install it on his desktop?
How would that be done?
I did a search and probably didn't word it right but is there a way to flip back and forth between two scriptures. I'll look at one and it will bring to mind another along the same thought and I would like to flip back and forth as I think about them. Probably something simple I am overlooking.

I am in the middle of a heavy word study project. I know e-Sword is not the best software for heavy analytical word studies, but it's free and I like free, so I am trying to work with it.
I have already written some MS Word and Excel macros to analyze ALL of the Psalms of David and extract word counts. The result is an Excel table with the English words and the Strong's Numbers for the Hebrew words with a count of their frequency. The next step would be to add a column listing the Strong's definition for each of the Strong's Numbers. With a small project/passage, I would just do this manually, but in analyzing ALL of the Psalms of David I have a list of over 1500 unique Strong's Numbers, and manual analysis is out of the question for all but the most frequenty used words.
My thought is to convert the StrongsPlus.dctx module to a format that is readable by Excel VBA and write an Excel macro to extract definitions from appropriate Strong's Numbers. (I would rather use the NASEC dictionary for several reasons, but it appears to be hidden behind licensing). Having no prior experience with e-Sword ToolTip Tool NT, my thought is to use it to convert the .dctx module back to an .rtf or something similar that I can process with Excel VBA.
And that back-conversion is where I am stuck.
Following the manual for ToolTip Tool, I have run the "Tooltip Existing DCTX File" command, which makes a copy of the file, and names it StrongsPlus_t3.dctx.
I then ran the "Read Dictionary File - Single Block" command on that copy, and I get the error "Error in text filter: Unknown format. (1-1d01)" once at the beginning of the process and once at the end. The resulting document looks like this:

#define abbreviation=Strong+
#define comments=#define version=2
#define strong=1
Because the manual for ToopTip Tool says most errors are related to modules being too large, I split the dictionary into 20 modules, but still get the same error.
I tried this process with strong.dctx, but it's locked.
Two questions:
1) Any ideas on what I am doing wrong to get this dictionary converted?
2) Any ideas on a better way to go about this whole project?

I am attempting to upload a file to Bible Support.com. I cannot get beyond the question re. the version of E-sword I use. The only option I am given is that of version 8 or less. I use version 11.1.0 There is a comment which says if I encounter this kind of problem I must exit & start the process again - choosing the correct version option from a list on the left. I have exited, etc. but there is no list of versions on the left.
Can somebody please help me.

Is there any way to convert HTML e-Sword modules to the old format? Currently it is easy to convert old-format modules to theWord (using TW's conversion utility), but (unless I am missing something!) I don't see how to convert HTML modules to theWord.
Or is there a way to convert HTML modules to MySword? And the main issue I have there is the Strong's conversion (i.e., [H100]) and Bible references to something recognized by MySword. I can do it manually but that is VERY tedious!

I've used e-Sword & Word for years, including the macros for Word. I got another laptop, installed e-Sword, downloaded/installed the macros...they don't work. I have the "Add-ins" toolbar in Word, and there's a box where the macros should be, but it's blank. If I hover the mouse over the box, the names of the macros show, but nothing happens when I click there. they're also in the list of macros in the "View" ribbon, but nothing happens when I select them & click "Run".
I turned off antivirus & firewall & downloaded/installed again, but no change.
so i downloaded a bunch of new bibles the ohter night and since then 4 of them wont open. i can't find them in my esword folder to delete. and now esword won't even open!

Is there a way to convert cmtx file to topx or to load commentaries down in book form.
As an example, the John Peter Lange commentary shows 25 volumes when looking it up. I would like it in book/volume form as well as in commentary form. Preferrably .topx or .refx form but if not, in straight book form.
I know I can look at a commentary by bible chapter or book but would like the book form as well. That way I could scan the whole volume on words, subjects, etc.

I'm trying to edit an esword bible module, but I can't seem to open the entire module. I get Gen to part of 2kings but that's it. Yet all is present in the esword software. Any ideas?
Hi guys, anyone else having issues with the Bible Verses Copy Feature?
With the (Include Text Formatting) checkbox selected.. Sometimes the text copies fine, but it does not contain the formatting when pasting.. ... if I try a few more times it will usually work. It used to work 100%. Any ideas?
Wordpad, Word, Mail client.. several programs confirm it's not going into the clipboard with the formatting sometimes.

I used moved E-sword to a new computer. Done this before.
My user files sem to work fine apart from two problems:
1. For some reason, e-sword did not pick up all my Bibles after I had copied them over.
2. Markup - highlights of verses is stored (typically) in markup.ovlx. The markups for the Icelandic Bible are not working. The reason seems to be that the shortcode for the Icelandic Bible has been changed from ICE to Icelandic
Any advice on this? Is it perhaps possible to hack my markup.ovlx to replace ICE with Icelandic?

I have a general question about eSword and various bible translations:
I think that eSword is great and there is one feature I am looking for and suspect that it might be in premium version of a bible translation. I very much appreciate being able to back reference scripture for instance Gal3:13 references Deuteronomy 21:23. Many electronic bible have a superscript that can be clicked on and that will take you to referenced verses or parallel sections of scripture. I have the ESV, ESV+, the KJV, and KJV+, ABP+, and the Parallel Greek APB+. I have not been able to find a referencing feature in these translations. I have looked at the various premium bibles but can not tell which one might have this. Does anyone have recommendations?

but i can not combine them into one to find both the verses with range and without range.
can you help me combine both into one.
