NIV 1984

I used to own the NIV 1984 module, I purchased it around 2006.  I have since gone through many computers and I do not remember the email i used to purchase the module.

I do have the NIV 1984 in a word document, I am trying to avoid putting it in my personal esword using tool-tip.

Can anyone help me figure out how to get the NIV 1984 on my esword?

Thank you.  Paul >>  autotechcfo@gmail.com

How to edit an LSTX (verse list) file

I have created a verse list that has "A LOT" of verses in it. Instead of using the GUI in e-sword that requires me to type out manually all the verses I want to add; I would like to open up a file (<filename>.lstx) and edit it (like in notepad). Is this possible? Is there an editor for an LSTX file?

Thanks

The Module Format Converter for e-Sword?

Hello Everyone,

I would appreciate providing the most accurate way and tools to convert other e-libraries to be compatible with e-Sword for installing and using inside it.

More vividly, I see that the SwordSearcher® and other libaries have more Word of God Expositions to be incorporated and I do not have the programming skills to do it on my own. So, I want to have the PROPER TOOLS to Convert other formats into e-Sword (Current 2020 Version Of course) Modules?

Please consider it SERIOUSLY.

In God's Peace,

Your Brother in Christ, David,

Egypt.

Hello, eSword Fans,

I have not upgraded to eSword 12. I still have 11.0.6 installed. I really only use it for module building because I use another free software package for my Bible study and "sermonation."

While recently building some new modules, I thought about upgrading to eSword 12, and wondered what the differences were. According to this short article by Bill Huff, the STEP reader was rebuilt for eS12. I'm wondering what the upgrades are.

If you are a STEP reader user, could you post your thoughts (pros and cons) about the STEP reader upgrade that is part of eSword 12?

NIV 1978

While both the 1984 and 2011 editions of the NIV are available as e-Sword modules the 1978 version which was the first complete NIV bible published (The NIV NT was published on it's own in 1973) is not available.

However I recently discovered a module repository for the MyBible App which includes a MyBible module of the 1978 NIV. Here is the really interesting thing about this, both MyBible and e-Sword use SqLite databases for module creation which means converting the MyBible 1978 NIV module for e-Sword will be easy to do.

It is probably not possible to upload a 1978 NIV module to Biblesupport for downloading but I wonder if there are some who would want to study the 1978 NIV

If you want to see the Mybible module repository here is the link:

What file format do I need conversion to for e-sword?

Scripture Occurrences

In eSword, is it possible to search for all of the occurrences of a particular scripture in your eSword library?

For example, say I wanted to find all the references to John 17:3 in all of my resources, is there a feature in eSword that will help me do this?

Thanks for any help.

JSON file format

Hello,

I'm both an e-Sword and theWord user, and am wondering about the json file format.

There is a great json resource of a Bible with cross-references (long out of copyright):
the "Self-Interpreting Bible" by John Brown of Haddington,
which is also titled as the "Westminster Reference Bible" by the json author.

(I tried posting the links, yet the message was deemed to be spam.)

Is it possible to convert the json file into a theWord friendly format, as a commentary or even as a book?

Simple Bible Reader 3 does not seem to be of any help with this.
And I've only come across someone suggesting a Python script (I'm already lost by now) for converting json to sqlite, yet that is for individual json Bibles, and I have no idea how it would handle or mangle the cross-references within it.
I've tried the beast known as ToolTip before, and would be willing to try that again if applicable.

Hi,

I just downloaded and seemingly installed these files just fine with module installer; they're showing up in eSword but they are blank.  NT works fine, the OT files don't seem to work at all.

Thanks for any advice.

NIV Concordance

I'm wondering if there is a concordance module for the NIV?  Zondervan has published the "NIV Exhaustive Bible Concordance" which is likely still under copyright.  They've basically, to my understanding, have started from scratch in numbering and cataloging the words of the Bible, basically starting a new from Strong's.  This would be extremely helpful as I use the book regularly but a module would be a great addition.
Thanks,

Seeking Closure

Maybe I'm missing the obvious, but here goes.  I opened a book in the Reference Library and now I cannot close it.  In the left pane is the list of chapters with no other books listed.  If the book is exited, going back to the Library opens the book where it was exited.  It would be nice to open a different book.  How do I close the current book so I can open a new one?

I'm using version 12.1 in Windows 10.

Thank you for your help.

I downloaded the Audio Bible for e-Sword. It works;but, in the New Testament, it does not play the chapter selected. It play all chapters tested so far in the Old Testament section.

If I select John chapter 15, it plays John chapter 12. I downloaded another KJV bible file and now it plays John chapter 14 when I select John chapter 15. Do you have any thoughts on what is happening?
