12.10 installer crashing

$

I have no way to debug the installer crash I am having, and the installer wizard doesn't appear to be leaving behind any log files for me to look at.  The installer gets to the point where it is copying files, then crashes with this message:  "The wizard was interrupted before e-sword could be completely installed.  Your system has not been modified.  To complete installation at another time, please run setup again.  Click finish to exit the wizard."

Anyone know what's happening?  I'm on the latest update of Windows 10 as of this writing.

Text marking

On some screen shots of e-sword I have seen double underlining in the bible text.

My version only offers single underlining option, though the design of the control seems designed for more options

Are there other marking options or am I stuck with single underlining?

Need Help Installing Module Please

Hello, using E-Sword 12.1, this module says it's for 8. and below: http://www.biblesupport.com/e-sword-downloads/file/3272-murray-andrew-masters-indwellingtopexe/

I've tried installing this and one other, but not seeing them anywhere in my program. They seem to be downloading the files to e-Sword/e-Sword folder. Are these just not compatible with my version or am I looking for them in the wrong place (STEP Reader), or am I installing them in the wrong folder location?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Error Opening Topics Notes Database

I know this has been asked in the past, but I cannot find a windows 10 and e-sword 12.1 answer.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, but every time I open the program I get a popup that says, "Error Opening topic notes database".  I say "ok" and it opens fine after that.  Any tips to get this to stop?

Multiple problems with Hebrew / Aramaic Text Handling

$

Great day all.  I'm using e-Sword 10.4.0, and I create e-Sword modules using e-Sword ToolTip Tool NT v1.29

My problems are as follows.

#1) Hebrew words and sentences show up properly in e-Sword *unless* they have any English punctuation, such as commas, periods, or quotation marks.  In those cases, the Hebrew text gets mangled.  Why, and how to fix?

#2) Estrangelo font copies fine into ToolTip Tool NT from other programs, but when rendered into e-Sword, it appears completely backwards.

#3) Is there anyway to insert images into a Commentary or Dictionary file?  I've never found a way to do so up until this point, over the years.  If so, how please?

Thank you so much for the help.

Formatting the copy feature of one or multiple verses

$

Hi,

I would like to copy either single of multiple verses in the format below and am wondering if it's possible to format in esword. The major formatting include brackets around the verse (Which I can do using the first copy preset), but then to add a colon and also putting double quotes around the verse text. See example below.

Example of 1 verse:

(John 1:1 NKJV): "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Example of 2 or more:

(John 1:1-2 NKJV): "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  (2)  He was in the beginning with God."

Currently I am manually putting them in, but it would be a real time saver to have esword do it for me using a preset. For 1 verse copy I use the first copy option and for multiple verses I use number 6. Also noticed, esword puts brackets in only on the first option but not the 6th which I use for 2 or more verses.

Can I update these to include more of my own preferences?

Thanks in Advance!

Shalom!

I have a new computer and have to reload afresh my e-sword (the only thing I don't like about a new laptop lol).
I have most everything on there now that I want, but I can't see the Hebrew reference numbers, which was a narrow side column under the dictionary section.

Can anyone tell me where to find it so I can add it?

Thank you..

Amanda

Hello, I'm Marc. I am completely new to e-sword. I am a Mac user and don't have access to PC. I am trying to get crossover to work but without much luck so far. Is there anyone who would be kind enough to convert these files for use on eSword X. I would appreciate it massively.

Creating a new Bible - need more info please

Hi people, when you open Genesis 2 in KJV, you see the screen, as displayed in the attached file

I’m creating my own eSword Bible version, but cannot figure out, from the manual, how to implement this kind of Comment / Topic / Note, as they appear in the red frames above. The stuff I create do end up in the Bible, but not “spontaneously” when I simply open and display the contents, as in the above example. You must go into “Reference Library” or other places in eSword to see them. Is this simply “inline text” that needs a certain way of formatting in your source, or how do I create and display these, please

Hi, I'm trouble finding TOP files I have downloaded into my e-Sword file

Need a list of KJV words that are in italics

Hello,

I'm currently updating my Sql Server database used by my website MyHebrewBible which uses the KJV.  I'm updating it with modern words from the UKJV (Updated KJV bible) and in the process I would also like to add words that are in italics (which I currently don't have).

Any idea how I can get this data?

Thanks

John

Can-not find data for tab.

I have a tab showing up in my dictionary area (TS2009 Notes).  I have a Bible by that name but when I look in the file area there is nothing with that file name.  There is no data under the tab when clicked.  How do I get rid of the tab.  I have tried restart and I also redownloaded e-sword - it is not going away?

Unable to open devotions

I am running e-sword 12.1 (upgraded from version 11 (which I think was a deletion of 11 and a new install of 12.1) on Windows 10.

In the resources I have 2 checked devotions but I am unable to check Tools>Devotions therefore I am unable to view the devotions.

I have uninstalled e-Sword twice and reinstalled it to no avail. I checked the e-Sword folder and it had been deleted from my computer.

However, I notice that both the devotions are also installed without my downloading them again. This also applies to several Commentaries as well (where have they come from?). Are they stored in another location?

Any help very much appreciated - I am 74 years old and not very "au fait" with computers.

JW's New World Translation

OK, I did something crazy... I downloaded a PDF edition of the JW New World Translation of the Bible. Actually calling it a "translation," well, ummm, sort of just doesn't quite cut the mustard, but there we are.

A n y w a y (that's like drawing out the word, anyway), I am thinking of creating an NWT thingy (I love that) as an e-Sword resource, and would like to put it up here as a tool which could be used against the Jehovah witnesses.

Now, just before you think that I have totally lost my mind, and need to be put in a straitjacket, then thrown into a padded cell and the key tossed away; apparently I'm not the only one of this mind/thinking. Interestingly, John Ankerberg, in a blog, is sort of the same mind.

I am well aware of the policy of Bible Support regarding JW resources. But I also think that when it comes to JW stuff that most, if not all, regard the NWT thingy as close to crap as possible (putting it mildly). That said, to be able to use their material as tool as a part of one's apologetics in the refutation of their arguments, and then to show that Jesus is as He really is (as God) has to be a real prize. This sort of reminds me (to use an analogy) of a soldier taking a bayoneted rifle off his enemy, and then using it against him. A real prize.

This post is not a theological discussion, and therefore not where one can have his/her theological rant on this topic. You want to do that is fine, and there is a section here called Theological Discussions, where one can do that, so use that place. Again, that said, your thoughts/feedback is valuable as to whether or not I should do this project.

Blessings,
